Mark Green MC (28 March 1917 – 2 August 2009) was the suffragan Bishop of Aston from 1972〔''D-Day chaplains are made bishops suffragan'' The Times Thursday, 23 March 1972; p. 19; Issue 58434; col E〕 to 1982. He was born into an ecclesiastical family〔His father was the ''Rev E.W. Green'' OBE > Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 and educated at Rossall School and Lincoln College, Oxford. He studied for ordination at Ripon College Cuddesdon before a curacy at St Catherine’s Gloucester.〔(Church web-site )〕 After World War II service as a Chaplain to the Forces〔"Bishop and inspirational Army chaplain who drove a tank into battle to rescue wartime wounded" Daily Telegraph Issue no 47,966 (dated 24 September 2009) Obituaries p 31〕 he held incumbencies at Hull and Acaster Malbis. He was then Rural Dean of Ainsty〔Crockford's Clerical Directory2008/2009 Lambeth, Church House Publishing ISBN 978-0-7151-1030-0〕 before elevation to the Episcopate.
